Flow Learning Compliance Update

We’re always reviewing our content to offer tips on industry best-practice and that it’s aligned with changes in legislation. So, we’ve identified some amends to our core content and we’re almost ready to upload the new versions.

Here’s a list of resources and the regional versions that will be updated:
  • Food Safety Level 2: UK, EU, US and ROI

  • Food Safety Level 2 for QSR: UK, EU, US and ROI
  • Food Safety Level 1 for QSR: ROI
  • Food Allergens: US
  • Food Allergens for QSR: US
How will it work?

We will be switching the courses in our core content library to the new versions by the end of the 8th of September. This will be done globally so you won’t need to do anything in Mapal One.

Once we’ve done this, all new learners will automatically see the new updated version. Any learners marked as ”in progress” before the switch date will continue to see the older version of the course, unless their progress is reset.

Will this influence my compliance status?

No, both the current versions and the newly amended versions are in line with all current legislation. Our amends are more in line with best practice advice, and you can see them in the list below. If you’d like more information, please contact your Customer Success representative.

What if I have a scorm only or custom branded package?

If you have a scorm only or custom branded package that includes one of the listed core resources, your Customer Success representative will contact you directly with an individualised timeline for updating and switching your versions.

We’ll perform these updates automatically, but please inform your CS representative by Friday, the 15th of September, if you don’t want them applied to your versions. Bear in mind that if you choose not to apply the updates the relevant endorsements may be affected.

If we don’t hear from you by this date, we’ll update according to the timeline communicated.

Here’s a summary of the amends:
Added purple chopping board for allergens

Resources:

Rationale:

  • Added a further purple chopping board for allergens to the 'The colour says it all!' activity on the page called 'The Food Journey'.
Amended 'Key Temperatures' activity for stability

Resources:

  • Food Safety Level 2 for QSR - UK, EU, US and ROI

Rationale:

  • Amended the 'Key Temperatures' activity for stability across all device types.
Updated content to align with localised legislation + best practice

Resources: 

  • Food Safety Level 2 for QSR - ROI

  • Food Safety Level 1 - ROI

  • Food Safety Level 1 for QSR - ROI

Rationale:

  • To be more aligned with ROI legislation and best practice advice, especially regarding key temperatures and cooling.
Updated allergens video + content

Rationale:

  • Updated the 'Food Allergens' video and course content to include the 9th major food allergen recognised by the FDA - 'Sesame seeds'.
