  • GIFs in Comments of News and Forum Posts

We have now ensured that GIFs can be added in comments on News and Forum post publications. 

Why this Matters

We felt that this mattered because users now have another format of expression in Engagement enabled platforms. They say a picture tells a thousand words...what about a GIF?

  • Noticeboard Item List View

We have made an enhancement so that users now have the option to switch between the current default card view and a new list view within Noticeboard items. 

Why this Matters

This is important because some platforms have a lot of noticeboard items and giving users the option to condense these should hopefully improve user experience. 

Benefits
  • This should allow for better legibility and quick scanning of the page
  • Makes the platform more user friendly by giving users more control

 


 
  • Addition of 'What's New' to Mapal One

We have now added a link in the menu called 'What's New'. This will link users through to these release notes from Mapal One.

Why this Matters

This is important because then any changes made to the platform are more readily available for users.

  • Changes to the platform are covered and explained
  • Brings users into the changes we're making and showing regular and important updates

 

Improvements

 
  • Accessibility updates

We are making our way through required accessibility updates identified by our UX/UI team. 

Why this Matters

This is important because all users should have the best possible experience that we can provide. This experience should be compliant with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) this year.

Benefits
  • Changes to colours and sizes will make the platform more accessible for more users
  • Going through this process allows us to better understand the requirements of more people

 


 
 
  • Request Shift Permission

We have updated to ensure that we assess whether or not the user has the correct permissions to request shifts.

Why this Matters

This is important because we need to ensure Mapal One is respecting permissions set in the Workforce system.

  • Users have permissions appropriate to what has been deemed appropriate

 


 
 
  • Create Chat button visibility

We have made an improvement to ensure that the 'create chat' button shows depending on the company's chat setting. If the company only allows Engagement created chats, then the chat button should not show.

Why this Matters

This is important because this offers companies chat solutions tailored to their business needs.

  • Only chat groups relating to the business' standards can be created 

 


 
 
  • Addition of Japanese

We have now added Japanese to the platform as a language.

Why this Matters

This matters because as our platform is used by more people, it is important that we can offer this in a language that is comfortable for the learner to go about their app use.

  • It's always a benefit that we can offer our app experience in even more languages

Bug fixes

Survey Descriptions not showing
We found that if users were adding survey descriptions in Engagement, these were not pulling through to Mapal One. This has now been resolved.
Holiday Addition
In some cases we saw that users were unable to add holidays in via the Holiday Preferences feature. We have now fixed this.
Holiday/Shift Preference Addition Issue
In addition to the above, we have now resolved an issue where if a shift/holiday preference was added in GIR enabled companies, these were not displaying in the Requests section.
Full Absence not shown in Calendar
If an absence was added in via the Absences section in Workforce, in some areas we saw only the first day of the absence period being shown in Mapal One. We have now fixed this to ensure that all days in the absence period are shown.
