Improvements
Absence requests – Documentation code requirement
Absence requests in Mapal One now prompt users to provide a documentation code for specific incident types where this is required.
Why this Matters
Some absence types require additional documentation to be recorded correctly. Prompting for this information at the point of request helps ensure absences are submitted with the correct details first time.
Key Benefits
- Improved data accuracy: Ensures required documentation codes are captured for relevant absence types.
- Clear validation: Required fields and format guidance help users enter valid codes when submitting requests.
Consistent submission behaviour: Documentation and attachments are enforced only when required for the selected incident type.
Updates to Holidays & Absences
The Holidays & Absences tab in Mapal One has been updated to improve how absence and vacation requests are displayed, including clearer status information and visual updates.
Why this Matters
Clear and accurate absence information helps employees quickly understand the status of their requests and whether actions are still required, without needing to interpret multiple signals.
Key Benefits
- Clearer absence statuses: Requests now clearly show whether they are requested, approved, or denied.
- Improved visibility: Users can see when approved absences have been viewed, helping avoid uncertainty about request outcomes.
Consistent presentation: Updated styling improves readability and ensures confirmed absences and requests are visually distinct.
Improved absence request error messages
Error handling has been improved when creating absence requests in Mapal One, with clearer, more specific messages shown when a request cannot be submitted.
Why this Matters
Generic error messages make it hard for users to understand why an absence request failed. Providing clearer feedback helps users resolve issues more quickly and reduces repeated failed submissions.
Key Benefits
- Clearer guidance: Users now see specific error messages explaining why an absence request could not be submitted.
- Consistent feedback: Error messages are displayed clearly on screen alongside the existing “Action unsuccessful” notification.
Better retry experience: The same error message is shown if a request is resubmitted without changes, making the issue clear and predictable.
Explore Learning in Global Search
Explore Learning items are now included in Global Search in Mapal One, making it easier for users to find extra learning content from one place.
Why this Matters
Global Search is often the fastest way for users to find content. Including Explore Learning ensures additional courses are just as discoverable as other learning resources.
Key Benefits
- Improved discoverability: Users can now search Explore Learning items directly from Global Search.
- Clear, structured results: Results display key information such as type, title, tags, and thumbnails where available.
- Consistent navigation: Search results link directly to the selected learning item, with clear result counts shown.
Bug fixes
- Feed comment likes
- We fixed an issue where users had to click twice to remove a like from a comment. Likes can now be undone with a single click as expected.
- Global Search recognitions empty state
- We resolved an issue where the Recognitions tab showed a “no results” message before a search was started. The correct “start searching” state now displays when no search term is entered, and the “Suggestions” label has been removed.
