New Features
Gamification: Reward Engagement Activities – In progress set for release end of Q2
Overview
We’ve expanded the gamification system to include a wider range of user actions related to engagement within Mapal One. These updates help recognise and reward meaningful participation across the platform.
Why this Matters
Until now, gamification points were limited to a narrow set of actions. By including engagement-driven behaviors, we can encourage users to take more active roles in collaboration, communication, and feedback. This supports a more vibrant and connected workplace culture.
Benefit
✅ Users are now rewarded for:
- Completing a survey
- Recognising a colleague
- Reading a news or forum post
- Commenting on a news or forum post
- Creating a forum post
- Submitting a suggestion
Smarter Scheduling: Posts Now Publish at 9:00 AM Local Time
Scheduled posts and surveys will now publish at a more user-friendly default time—9:00 AM (based on the user’s local timezone)—instead of midnight. This ensures that notifications tied to scheduled content are better timed for engagement.
Why this Matters
Previously, scheduled content was defaulted at 12:00 AM, resulting in notifications being sent at inconvenient hours. These midnight alerts were either missed or disruptive, undermining the goal of timely communication.
Benefits
✅ Scheduled posts and surveys now go live at 9:00 AM local time
✅ Notifications are delivered at a more appropriate time of day
✅ Helps improve engagement and avoids disturbing users at night
✅ No extra steps required from content creators—timing is handled automatically
✅ This update helps strike a better balance between automation and user experience.
New Visual Alerts for Reported Chat Messages
Overview
Admins and moderators can now easily spot when chat messages have been reported. A notification dot and badge counter have been added to the Chat menu to highlight pending issues requiring review.
Why this Matters
Previously, there was no visual indication of reported messages needing attention, causing delays in moderation and response. This new feature ensures moderators are immediately aware of new reports, helping maintain a safe and respectful chat environment.
Benefits
✅ Notification dot appears on the main “Chat” menu when there are pending reports
✅ Badge shows the exact number of unreviewed reported messages
✅ Indicators automatically disappear once all reports are resolved
✅ Only visible to users with admin or moderation permissions
✅ Helps moderators act faster and keep the chat space well-managed
This update boosts awareness and streamlines moderation workflows with timely, unobtrusive notifications.
Bug fixes
- BUG: Bulk Upload Blocked Without Level Selection. A recent update allowed users to manually select additional employees for Engagement content without needing to choose levels. However, this functionality was not applied to the bulk upload feature. As a result, users attempting to upload specific employees via CSV were still required to select at least one level, causing unnecessary complications. Resolution: The bulk upload process has been updated to match the manual selection behavior. Users can now successfully upload CSVs containing specific employee emails without being forced to select levels.
